NewsU - www.newsu.org

NewsU offers quality online courses to assist you in crafting many different types of writing. The majority of the courses are free and provide valuable insight into the art of writing.

Writers Market - www.writersmarket.com

This used to be a free service, but it is still the best way to research markets for your work. If you sign up for the annual service for .99, you get a 30-day money back guarantee. Or, if you prefer a monthly plan, pay just .99 and cancel it if you're not satisfied. I think it’s well worth the cost because the Writers Market book is outdated by the time you purchase it and the website is kept current.

Writers Digest - www.writersdigest.com

If you like the magazine, you’ll like the website as well. You may want to sign-up for the daily prompts and Market of the Day features. This site is wonderful!

Creative Quotations - www.creativequotations.com

A great place to research quotes for your work. The site contains over 50,000 quotes and short biographies of famous people. In addition, there are some interesting pages addressing creativity.

Foundation Center - www.fdncenter.org

The Foundation Center is the nation's leading authority on philanthropy and is dedicated to serving grantseekers, grant-makers, researchers, policymakers, the media, and the general public. You can sign-up for Arts Funding Watch newsletters from the Foundation Center. They are very informative and contain many opportunities for artists and writers seeking funding. The site also lists job openings around the nation in the non-profit sector.

 Writers Weekly - www.writersweekly.com

Definitely one of the best sites I know for writers! If you are new to the business, I highly recommend this site. Angela Hoy, the Editor, not only shares her personal life with her readers; she shares her knowledge as well. You can email Angela with just about any writing or publishing question, and you will receive an answer. Another great feature is the weekly ezine with current markets, jobs for freelancers, and a list of deadbeat publishers.

Author’s Den - www.authorsden.com

A good site for interacting with other writers and posting your work. You can join for free and the site has various lost cost premium packages available if you would like to showcase your work and be discovered!

Tips For Writers - www.tipsforwriters.com

This site has a number of links related to writing everything from a resume to a eulogy! It also contains links to teaching resources and writing courses.
